fixes a few minor problems of version 4.9 (ripper, little player
and so on).
You

|
Version
4.9/
release date: 10.03.2004 |
|
1.
A sand glass appeared while working with the program and did
not go away, this problem has been solved.
2.
After setting Direct-Cue Points and changing the ID3Tag, the
Cue Points could not be loaded again.
3.
Once a file has been deleted, the corresponding SCN and Cue
File will also be deleted.
4.
Also with large archives the search function will not lead to
dropouts any longer. The priority allocation has been optimized.
5.
When starting BPM Studio the autostart option of the CD-Rom
LW will be switched off.
6.
Usually, the BPM Studio uses the start-date for the list of
played songs. This is necessary
to view all songs played after 12 p.m. in one list.In some cases
this option is not wanted,
therefore you have the opportunity to switch this function with
the registration value "UseRealDateForPlayed" off.
7.
During the manual fading the Direct-Cue Points have not been
loaded correctly.
8.
Within the search function the typing of letters esp. fast typing,
caused sometimes errors.
9.
The autobackup function executes now 50 instead of 10 rotating
backups, to prevent the overwriting of backups.
10.
The Kernel driver has not been installed correctly on some systems,
this problem has been solved.
11.
The full text search with (Wildcards *, ?) can now be switched
off.
12.
Within the options you have now the opportunity to specify that
a multiChannel soundcard
is being used. This makes the soundcard-test unnecessary and
improves the synchrony between the
Main and Monitor channel.
13.
There was a problem when setting Cue-Points directy on Audio
CD's.
14.
The FreeCDDB can now also output "Year" und "Genre"
if this values exist in the data. BPM Studio supports now this
add-on.
15.
If the archive was sorted by time, problems occured.
16.
When changing the data directory, the path for play lists is
also being changed.
17.
Some (WDM) soundcards played mono data too fast.
18.
The MP3 encoder allows now to encode 48 Khz.
19.
USB serial devices and USB remote control units (if available)
book in correctly even though the connection was teared apart.
20.
The system sounds will be restored (hopefully) when shutting
down BPM-Studio.
21.
Changes on the Kernel driver, fixes for the new M-Audio Delta
driver as well as the Hammerfall DSP system, in general a better
compatibility with divers drivers.
22.
The Kernel driver now supports hyperthreading and is not crashing
down, when hyperthreading is activated in the Bios.
23.
Changed latency allocation and the display within the kernel
driver, e.g. the hammerfall DSP system works now with a 1.5
ms latency, and this absolutely stabil!
24.
The Kernel driver supports now the switching of the latency
within the running system over the Control Panel of the soundcard,
if this is supported by the soundcard. (e.g. Hammerfall DSP
system)
25.
Within the FileOpen dialog it was not possible to choose an
entry using the CheckBox
when trying to choose a titled device e.g. "DATA (E:)"
26.
When scanning the archives it was possible that defective ID3Tags
crashed BPM Studio.
Esp. a program named MP3Ext writes tags with wrong size specifications,
which are not expected.
27.
When accessing the "SearchDialogs" using the shortcut
ALT+S and accidentally pressing
W the key lock activated itself and it was not possible to press
any key neither of the keyboard nor of the remote control.
28.
Support for many new CD Recorders, you can find a detailed list
here.
29.
The sorting of columns within the lists has been advanced. Only
the list shown is sorted immediately, the sorting of the whole
archive is done in the background.
30.
Is a file being deleted, it is moved directly into the recycle
bin, besides the shift key is being pressed at the same time,
then the file will be deleted straight away. BPM Studio follows
the Windows conventions.
31.
BPM Studio supports starting with version 4.9 the Hercules DJ
Console.
32.
When changing the data directy the playlists are not imported
correctly, this has been solved.

when running in exclusive shell mode:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ALCATech\BPM Profi\Run
The pattern follows the conventions of:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
You can specify more than one Application in this registry key,
this was necessary because some soundcards don’t offer all functions
if you don’t start their control panel, this sometimes also
affects the Kernel driver

in software)
3) Bug fixed in demo version, while Audio-Play and when Evaluation
message showed up
4) W2K Bug fixed in Audio Engine, dropouts when fast pushing
the CUP button
5) Bug fixed in Audio Engine, sometimes BPM hang when turning

6) BPM-Match function changed for Slider version, see also revised
manual
7) Kernel driver newly compiled, by using a new compiler a wrong
code was compiled which led to a crash on some soundcards
8) When ripping the last frame of some CD's a error could
be caused, fixed
9) Little Bug cured when updating the Title Scrollings in AutoPlay
10) Option "Warn Before Remove Files" was not saved,
fixed
11) When creating "users" in BPM Studio or the File
Archive was put on a self-defined folder, then the Playlist
Archive had probably not been saved, fixed
12) In the CD-Writer nothing could be inserted from the Clipboard,
fixed
13) When inserting many files into a CD-Writer file project,
partly a negative file size was presented and the bar was calculated
wrong, fixed
14) In Extra Info Dialog for completely ripped CD's (Disc-at-once-Track)
was a access violation when the dialog had been opened consecutively
2 times, fixed
15) By sorting subsequent to BPM, values were grouped wrong.
First values over 100, then values under 100 (eg 99) were listed,
fixed
16) Realtime BPM Counter did not show the exact "hundred
points" but only the_00.x because of rounding errors, especially
at titles oscillating between 99.9 and 100 BPM, fixed
17) When users who used the archive of the administrator were
created, it was possible that administrator and user have overwritten
the cue points mutually. Now each user has his own cue directory
whereas in the options menu it is adjustable, if the Cues of
the administrator should be loaded if the user has not created
any Cues for the title. If Cues get modified or newly created,
they will always be saved within the Cue directory of the user.
18) Sometimes the FadeIn didn't work correctly (in AutoPlay
or via Fade button) and the title did start with full loudness
immediately, fixed
19) BPM-Studio Clean Start unfortunately didn't work any
more...
20) Mono files were not loaded and played any more (by bug in
AGC), fixed

was not created on the harddisk, fixed
22) When recording in MP3 in the recorder, the format adjusted
in the options will be used now
23) At Ice/Shoutcast Streaming the MetaInfos will be transferred
also by twofold Playlist, previously this took place only by
Waitlist.
24) If the Genre field is left free when ripping, "other"
will not be inserted anymore.
25) In the modus "Sorted Archive" the sort button
remains pressed now to make the sorted modus more knowable.
26) The directory for Playlists is normally the data directory
under the BPM installation, because it has to remain private
also for several users, every user has his own Playlists.
27) BPM-Studio creates now a backup of the File- and Playlist
Archives automatically by any program start. This function can
be switched off in the program options. The backup will be created
in the data directory "\Backup\Date+Time" and can
be loaded anytime by the backup function, eg should the archive
disappear, which will happen very rarely. To avoid useless loading
of the harddisk, only 10 of the latest backups will be stored.
All the elder ones will be deleted automatically.
28) Through a little bug by the "silentless at the end"
detection during the normalization, some titles were normalized
over an over, fixed
29) When generating the list "Songs Played" the date
will be taken from the program start now, otherwise two lists
would be created for an evening that lasts past midnight, because
the date changes in that case, too. So it was difficult to retrace
the complete evening.
30) The maximum size of the files which can be loaded into the
Sampler will be determined dynamically and independently from
the RAM
ex 64 MB : 30 sec
ex 128 MB : 40 sec
ex 256 MB : 60 sec
ex 512 MB : 120 sec
ex 1024 MB : 240 sec
31) When editing the File Infos of several titles under W2K
only the first title was changed, fixed
32) The level indicator in the left display of the old remote
controler did not work, fixed
33) Debouncing time of the buttons of the new remote controls
was increased, unfortunately malfunctions by contact bouncing
appeared occasionally especially by using the Play/Break and
Cue buttons. |

Version 4.0.0 / release date: 15.06.2001 |
| 4.0.0 / New
Features: |
| 1.
As the popup menus became even longer by more functions, now rarely
used entries are hidden in the style of WinME or Office 2000.
The hidden entries can be made visibly at any time by clicking
the small arrows downward in the menu. The hiding of the menus
itself can completely switch off by option, then everything remains
as usual. 2.
The standard groups like " SEARCH RESULTS ", "
NEW FILES " etc. are now always in the selected language
shown, by changing the language the names of those standard
groups will be renamed accordingly.
3.
Print functions, aye! -) Both the Playlists, and individual
groups in the File Archive can be printed. However, groups inclusive
sub-groups or the complete archive can be printed,. The print
functions can be adapted by means of extensive settings and
sorting possibilities to almost all needs, a WYSIWYG Print Preview
is available as well.
4.
The columns in the File Archive and the Playlists can be specified
now freely and changed in the size. By double-click on a column
in the header of the File Archive, the archive sorts itself
after this column. Thus the columns can be adapted to all needs.
5.
BPM Studio was extended by an efficient Playlist Managment.
In Playlist View, complete Playlists can be put on and sorted
in different groups. Furthermore, in Playlist View a list of
the played songs is administered in order to recognize at a
glance and at any time which titles have been played on a certain
day. Of course the Playlists can simply be loaded into the Playlists
of the Players again, printed, sorted, etc.. Now by printing
a list with the played songs a GEMA lists can be provided.
6.
Has a search in the archive been unsuccessful, the search dialogue
will now show up immediately to make a corrected input and/or
renewed search simpler. The dialogue can be simply cancelled
with ESC of course.
7.
Visualizations options can be adjusted now for each Player individually,
e.g. left Player Spectrum Analyzer, right Player Cue points.
8.
Up to 6 Cue Points can be stored now directly in the Players.
To switch into the Cue Point Mode, right mouse button in the
display and then to Cue memory. All Cue points are of course
equipped with Instant Cue and can be called up in under 6 ms,
thus very interesting sampling effects can be realized. In order
to store the Cue Points, any file which has been created for
Cue Points is being put in a file with the ending .cue that
contains the Cue Points. Additionally, complete loops can be
placed on the Cue buttons as well which extends the sampling
possibilities even more.
9.
" Automatic Gain Control " to regulate the volume
automatically. Further explanations in the manual.
10.
In the Ripper a complete CD can be now be copied as individual
Track. This is sensible for CD's without pause between the
Tracks (mix etc..). The individual Tracks and positions are
stored thereby and is such mix leaded into the Player later,
the individual titles can be controlled by pressing the Track
buttons with the right mouse button, the left mouse button goes
to the next or previous Track as before. The Extra Tracks can
be edited via the button "More..." in the FileInfo
dialogue.
11.
Pitch or BPM Matching (Pitch To) works now via the remote control
as well. Is the "Match" function activated in a Player,
the BPM value of one Player is adapted to the BPM value of the
other Player. The other Player to which the pitch was adapted
to works immediately as master, i.e. each change on the pitch
slider of the Players causes likewise a change of pitch in the
other Player, thereby the speed of the Players remain synchronous.
The Player momentary active as " Pitch Master " is
recognizable by a flashing Pitch LED. Is a new Track loaded
into the Master Player, the Pitch Lock is cancelled and the
slider of the Slave Player works again. The Pitch of the Slave
Players however remains at the given value by the Master as
long as either the Pitch is switched off or the Pitch Slider
has been moved some millimeters.
12.
It gives now a real Brake Function. With the current Player
running one can let the Player run out slowly by pressing the
Play button with the right mouse button, afterwards the Player
stands on Pause. Pressing the Play button with the right mousebutton
at a halted Player lets the Player run up slowly, the Cue Point
remains always unchanged. The Brake Function can be cancelled
at any time by pressing anew Play with the right mouse button.
With the new remote control is it possible to switch on/off
the Brake Function via the Brake button and then handled directly
via the Play button. While a Player executes Brake itself, the
Player can be manually pushed or slowed down by means of the
internal Jog Wheel, similarly to a turntable.
13.
Pressing of the " Match BPM " button (previous "
PitchTo") with the right mouse button fades out the Player
with the adjusted fade time.
14.
The reset of the position of the Player isn't done any longer
by pressing the Cue button twice, but by holding the Cue button
for 1 second. Thus changing between track beginning and set
Cue is possible. With the old function (pressing 2x) it unfortunately
could cause faulty operations frequently.
15.
On BPM-Studio Pro two remote controls can be attached at the
same time. This is not intended to e.g. that 2 DJ's work
with BPM-Studio at the same time can, but in order to e.g. place
each remote control in different areas and access BPM-Studio
from both areas. For each remote control exist separate options
of course, like COM port etc., thereby each remote control needs
their own COM port. The remote control types can be mixed at
will, sometimes however there are some restrictions which are
related to that the sliders at the remote controls cannot be
moved automatically. With two remote controls and both equipped
with sliders, one must be specified as Master in the options,
in the other one the sliders are inactive. At one remote control
with sliders and one with pitch wheel only the sliders will
work, the pitch wheels of the other remote control functions
remains without function. With two remote controls equipped
with pitch wheels there are no restrictions, this solution is
therefore to be given the preference, if possible.
16.
CD-Extra CD's with additional data tracks, e.g. video are
now correctly read. So far it gave frquently problems with the
last track.
17.
BPM-Studio Pro has now a internal telnet and HTTP host. This
makes it possible to control the most important functions remotely
over telnet or any web browser. Furthermore BPM-Studio can be
controlled over this interface from another application as well
by simply sending HTTP commands and using as Host "localhost".
The implemented commands are obtained by entering the following
address in your WEB Browser while BPM-Studio and a server are
active:
http://localhost:port/cmds.html
Port
stands thereby for the HTTP Port adjusted in BPM-Studio.
An
small sample application how the access over HTTP generally
works are available from ALCATech upon request. At present a
demo for Delphi exists which can simply transferred to other
development systems.
18.
Immediately youcan a special network version of BPM-Studio.
With this network version you receive only a Dongle into which
the desired number of licenses are burned. Thus you only need
one Dongle at the server. This has the advantage that the client
needs no additonal Dongles and no Dongle can " be lost
" anymore. Furthermore the installation of BPM-Studio in
the network will be simplier and the network licenses are offered
at a more favorable price than the single versions.
19.
Ex right away BPM-Studio supports the COM Ports 1-4, this extension
became necessary as e.g. USB - > Serial adapters install
on COM 3 and otherwise would not been usable. Attention USB
- > Serial adapters are not to recommend for the connection
of the remote controls as they are very slow and the reaction
of the remote controls is not optimal.
20.
The CD Writer functionality was now implemented. With this module
audio and MP3 CD's can be created in a quite simple way.
The functionality does not come near to an grown burner program
and it shouldn't of course, in the foreground stood a simple
handling. For the moment the following burners are supported.
New burners are added every 3-4 months via a free driver update:

Please
consider to reduce first of all the speed by problems with the
burner function, each blank cannot be written with each speed.
In in any case you should switch off the automatic notification
for all CD-ROM drives in the device manager, otherwise problems
can arise in particular when burning audio-CD's.

21.
The Clipboard functions were extended, with the usual Clipboard
function a complete group can be taken over directly from to
File Archive in the Clipboard. In particular in connection with
the Writer module this function is helpful to take over a complete
group into the Writer window.
22.
Capable real-time " Loop Sampler " in connection with
remote control. Further explanations in the manual.
23.
Now also Playlists (PLS, M3U) can be pulled directly from the
Windows Explorer into BPM-Studio by drag & drop.
24.
Is the Control held while pressing on the " Load Playlist
" button, the Playlist is attached to the existing Playlists.
25.
The loading of the Archive at program start cannot be cancelled
anymore. Unfortunately inexperienced users have cancelled the
loading procedure again and again and thus archives have been
destroyed.
26.
The Pitch Bend Function has been overworked. From time to time
it happened after pressing Pitch Bend + / - the pitch made itself
independent and " ran away ". The Bend buttons can
be pressed now at the same time and always the last pressed
key has priority. In particular with a fast lightly touch of
the two keys this works very good.

Version 3.4.6 / release date: 28.11.2000 |
| 3.4.6 / Bugfixes: |
| When changing
the file info of several list entries not all changes got applied
or sometimes unchecked tracks were changed - fixed |
|
Version 3.4.5 / release date: 14.11.2000 |
| 3.4.5 / Gimmicks: |
The search algorithm
was optimized und works now in seconds even with big archives
The search function does not display any double entries any longer
The archive updat function was optimized drastically an takes
no more than 10..20 minutes even with large archives, took hours
or even days in former versions |
| 3.4.5 / Bugfixes: |
Achive loading
was optimized and works significantly faster especially with larger
archives (about 10 times)
Some small problems with the fader start got fixed
When loading an older file archive in version 3.4 all tracks were
marked normalized - fixed |
|
Version 3.4.0 / release date: 06.11.2000 |
| Important
! The file archive is now no longer downward compatible, but
there will be no longer any limitations of the number of files
in the lists. |
| 3.4.0 / New
Features: |
In the new generation
of remote controls the faderstart function was implemented. To
activate check the "Fader Start" box in the remote options.
Caution: Fader start only works with remote controls with hardware
revision 3.00B and up. The fader start has been made available
in the software now and can be used with new RC units.
AutoUpdate for sound card drivers: In BPM Studio an automatic
upgrade function for audio drivers is implemented. ALCATech receives
the latest driver versions from selected sound card manufacturers
and make the accessible on the ALCATech server for download. By
the AutoUpdate function you not only get informed about new versions
of BPM Studio, even about the latest drivers for your soundcard.
To make this possible, BPM Studio recognizes the existing audio
hardware and its driver versions and compares them to the driver
data on the ALCATech server. Whenever there is a new version you
will receive a notification including the corresponding link.
|
| 3.4.0 / Gimmicks: |
| New hotkeys
in the lists. By this some shortcuts have been changed. Selected
track can be loaded directly into the playlists now. Further Windows-
compatible clipboard function were implemented (CTRL-C, CTRL-V
etc.) See details here |
| 3.4.0 / Bugfixes: |
Because of the
design of Winx the list size was limited to 32768 entries. By
the development of a replacement of the Windows listbox control
this limitation no longer exists.
Sometimes the ripper wasn't able to read the last frame of
a track correctly.
The system froze when searching and setting a position in the
CD player.
The set auto cue level didn't get assigned.
BPM-Studio could be started twice that wasn't wanted that
way...
Under W2K shutdown/restart didn't work correctly. Fixed The
AutoStart Funktion (/AUTO) didn't work correctly.
When the audio buffer was set to 2 sec in the audio options the
current track quit playing after Search--> Play.
Also with a 2 sec. preload buffer and instant cue short loops
and skips occured after Search --> Play. When playing a song
in the monitor and starting another track blue screens appeared
in a few cases.
Some genres of older versions did not get adapted correctly.
Some small troubles with the Kernel Driver and Delta soundcards
got fixed.
AutoPlay, in the wait list mode witha hard fade were played back
delayed and the first 500 ms were cut off.
Very small files, although already normalized, got normalized
over and over again.
A problem occuring with sector synchronisation and block sizes
above 13 on some CD-ROM drives got fixed.
At tracks over 60 minutes length the time is now displayed correctly
(at least till 99:99.0 minutes).
When using the Kernel driver in some cases the allocated memory
wasn't freed which could lead to a rapid loss of free memory.
In this case some malfunctions as dropouts or jittering after
some hours could occur. |
|
Version 3.3.0 / release date: 12.10.2000 |
| 3.3.0 / Gimmicks: |
The kernel driver
now got its own entry in the system settings.
When there are any problems with the Kernel driver it can be easily
deactivated.
In the BPM Studio audio options the latency of the kernel driver
can be set now. This can be useful when playback stutters on sounds
not tested by us, for instance Caution: Anyone who does not know
what he should do should keep his hands off this !!!
Instant cue function: The audio engine got reviewed and is now
capable to jump from any position back to the cue point within
4 ms (depending on the audio driver). Especially interesting is
this feature at the cue play function (normal or alternative)
which can work as a sampler now.
Complete Windows ME support. ME now works as fine as Win 98, the
known disadvantages of Win 2000 and and Windows NT do not exist
and we can recommend Windows ME as well as Windows 98 without
any limitations. |
| 3.3.0 / Bugfixes: |
A "small"
bug in the user options got fixed. In some cases the passwords
were visible to all users. (sorry ;-))
Hybrid CD's where the last track is a data track are now being
processed and read correctly
The communication with the control unit got improved so that less
commands have to be transmitted.
An error (Invalid driver ID) when opening the options under Windows
95C got fixed
A problem with the kernel driver and some driver versions of the
SB PCI got recovered. The driver could be selected but the player
did not run.
At stop and restart of a player there is no "rough"
stop but a short fading of 25 ms is executed to avoid clicks.
Unfortunately the system sounds were not switched off at properly
the start of BPM Studio which led to troubles sometimes. All system
sounds are now being disabled completely and restored after shutdown
of BPM Studio.
As soon as the kernel driver was installed it was not possible
to switch the comuter to suspended mode which was especially annoying
withn notebooks. The kernel driver now supports suspended mode
and does not have to be deactivated.
Some customers pointed out that the MP3 codec of the newer versions
sounds worse. The reason was the new encoder library we received
from Fraunhofer. Tests confirmed this so we returned to the previous
version which never caused problems.
At some installations the playback was spoiled by noise - fixed
Some small bugfixes in the kernel driver
Lots of trifles and clean ups not interesting for the normal user
|
|
Version 3.2.5 / release date: 04.09.2000 |
| 3.3.0 / New
Features: |
| In the list
menus there is now a entry "Export" by which selected
Titles can be copied or decoded. |
| 3.2.5 / Bugfixes: |
| Lots of trifles
and clean ups not interesting for the normal user |
|
Version 3.2.0 / release date: 23.08.2000 |
| 3.2.0 / New
Features: |
Extremely exact
Realtime BPM counter working between 50 and 300 BPM with
99% accuracy. The following ranges are available: 50...100, 75...150,100...200,
150...300 BPM. The value is being calculated directly in the player
and does not requier a separate
BPM counter. Once calculated the value can be transferred directly
to the ID3 tag.
In the BPM Studio Audio Options a new driver type can be selected,
the Kernel driver. This driver developed by ALCATech adresses
the soundcard at an extremely low level and offers extremely ahort
latency times (4-10 ms) by high stability because of its high
priority. The driver gets back on existing driver functionalities
as e.g. DirectSound and works on almost all cards even those that
produced dropouts because of their missing Direct sound drivers.
The kernel driver only works with windows 95/98, NT and W2K are
NOT suppoted until now because of the limitations of the operating
system.
CDDB batch query: After inserting several CD's the
CDDB query for these CD's can be done in one go.
Loudness adjustment: The normalize function was reviewed
completely and works now as a loudness adjustment. The file archive
menu now contains a new option „Normalize" with which the
whole file archive will be normalized in one go. At large archives
this process might take several hours but has to be done only
once for each song. When adding new files and normalzing files
already scanned will not be scanned again and will therefore go
faster. When normalizing peak and RMS levels of all songs are
being scanned and the value of the average loudness is being detected.
When finished the song with the highst and the lowest loudness
level is detected and all songs will be adjusted based on these
values. Songs with a high volume level will be damped and songs
with a low level will be amplified, the dynamics remain widely
untouched because only one amplification factor is used for each
track and no dynamics adjustment is applied.
Internet connection can be established/terminated manually right
click on CDDB button
New driver interface for EASI drivers (eMagic)
Pro version only: Calibrate Sliders: The control unit options
now have the button „Calibrate". In case the sliders don't
reset to the middle position this can be calibrated by clicking
on this button. |
| 3.2.0 / Gimmicks: |
| Low level audio
engine reviewed and optimized completely. Parallel processing
of Data by MMX optimizing improved. Memory comsuption of the audio
engine reduced. |
| 3.2.0 / Bugfixes: |
At times BPM
Studio did not recognize the change of a CD, fixed
Blue screen in Dsound.vxd caused by some DirectSound drivers e.g.
Midiman 2044 avoided
When more than 999 songs were loaded in a playlist the track number
was cut off, fixed
When player is stopped you can toggle between the recent cue-point
and the song start. When jumping back to the start of song silence
is being skipped
Some genres are no longer being stored in the registry and will
therefore not erased when the registry is cleared In the file
options folders in several levels are displayed correctly
Troubles with the bitmap drawing on some graphic cards were fixed
Smaller problems with ASIO drivers were fixed
New Spline interpolation filter offering better pitch quality
with ASIO, EASI, WAVE and Kernel drivers
Master tempo algorithm completely reviewed. Much better quality
and MMX optimized. |
|

| 3.0.5 / Neue
Features: |
The same
track can be loaded to the playlists several times
„agressive refresh" option - It's possible to deactivate
the aggressive refresh (all displays are redrawn at slower speed).
This function improves the performance up to 10% per player on
slower computers (Celeron(TM) Notebooks etc.) |
| 3.0.5 / Gimmicks: |
| Improvement
of performance from 7 to 10% by optimizing New keyboard shortcut
Alt+V = Visualization |
| 3.0.5 / Bugfixes: |
An error by
changing the preload buffer size in the audio options was fixed
The last 2-3 seconds were cut off, this error was fixed
An error at the „Silent Detection" (Auto-Cue) was fixed
Access Violation by using front/rear outputs was fixed
|
|
Version 3.0.0 / release date: 20.04.2000 |
| 3.0.0 / Neue
Module: |
| Several users
can work without influencing each other by using the user administration
Skin support |
| 3.0.0 / New
Features: |
„Master Tempo"
(time stretching, changing playback speed without changing
the pitch)
WinAmp Visualization PlugIn support
Full Screen mode 800x600 and 1024x768 supportet, at higher resolutions
several modules are being displayed additional
Several tracks can be selected and edited in the File Info Box.
So an artist or album entry can be assinged to a hole group of
tracks
3D soundcard support, so with a Terratec DMX sound card
e. g. a two-channel-solution can be obtained. Hint: Due to the
fact that the front and rear output are offer a different quality
of playback, this solution is not suitable for professional use.
Terratec DMX and SB Live were tested successfully, but the SB
live does not offer enough hardware buffer space to work as monitor
for BPM Studio.
BPM Studio now comes with extended networt support. A system
can consist of one server and several clients. The servers File
Archive is displayed on all clients, but changes can only be made
on the server. Changes in the servers File Archive are automatically
detected by the clients.
BPM Studio can be run as an exclusive shell application.
This feature is useful for applications were users should only
be allowed to have access only to BPM Studio and no other programs
on the system.
BPM Studio was optimized for multiprocessor systems running
under NT or W2000. Each player can use seperate processor, if
present, which improves the systems stability and player performance.
For the CDDB query BPB Studio either uses an existing internet
connection or the automatic dial function of Windows and terminates
the connection correctly.
The settings of the CDDB query are being expanded, to use alternate
CDDB servers you can enter URL and port number of the server
Advanced CDDA parameters can be setup for each CD-ROM drive
|
| 33.0.0 /
Bugfixes: |
In some configurations

Version 2.0.0 / release date: 18.11.1999 |
| 2.0.0 / New
Modules: |
A new module
called Loop Sampler was insert
By using the MP3 Streaming-Modul the master output can
live streamed in a network or the Internet. BPM Studio supports
the Shoutcast/Icecast protocols, and no other external modules
are needed. In our check outs we streamed with 128 kBit, and the
system load was smaller than 30%
Language Modul: BPM Studio supports now different languages.
(in this time are available the languages english and german and
we work on italian, france and dutch)
Backup Modul for the file archive |
| 2.0.0 / New
Features: |
Every modul
that could save the titles in WAVE till now can save now directly
in MP3. So the recorder can now record MP3's in realtime.
The monitor-function has been completly redone. The different
sample frequencies of the soundcards will be corrected, so drifting
apart of the output signals between monitor and master will be
avoided
MP3 to WAVE decompressing
Presets for the equalizer settings
Displaying pitch and pitch area in the display of the remote control
NEW: fulltext search (wildcards *, ?)
Now you can seach for BPM areas e.g. 120..130 BPM
You can drag titels from the playlists to the cd-player, so the
cd-player is a 3rd player or a comfortable preview player.
Autosave feature: every 5 minutes the whole state of BPM-Studio
is saved to disk. Even when the system crashes you wont lose your
archives or other data.
With the buttons A,B,C you can set the pitch area for each player,
even from the remote control. |
| 2.0.0 / Gimmicks: |
When autoplay-mode
was active while program shut down, it will be activated when
you start BPM-Studio again.
AutoCue (skip silence at the beginning)
The CPU usage was reduced about 5%, this means again more performance
The options of the ASIO drivers can be changed directly from the
options of BPM Studio
The wave out drivers have been optimized. Buffers of 3x8192 are
no problem on fast computers (P III 500), this reduces the delay
that is always higher than the delay of the other drivers.
A lot of customers, who work with the Digital SL, could not change
to BPM-Studio when they had bigger filearchives created with visiosonic
software. Because Digital SL encoded all MP3 files. We took a closer
look at the encoded files and we determined that this encoding
is not for protecting copyrights. The encoding only prevents the
users of Digital SL to change to another system, like BPM-Studio.
Because in our opinion all software should be compatible as possible,
we implemented a function that can read the encoded Digital SL
files, without changing them. Welcome to BPM-Studio and much greetings
to Visiosonic ;-)
A new command line parameter has been added. With /auto your can
start BPM-Studio in auto-play mode. A playlist called 'auto.lst'
will be loaded an played. When you install BPM-Studio in an auto
run folder of windows you only have to turn on the computer an
it will start to play. This is usefull for cafes, bars, etc. when
there is no DJ. Additionally you can use the parameter /SHUFFLE.
There is a new Hot-Key: with [Control]-[Shift] or [Alt]-[P] you
can the play selected track in the player |
